AdAdvertise.com Hijacked By Site Jackers!

AdAdvertise.com was hijacked by our web hoster on Thursday, January 11, 2007 .  When we say hijacked, we mean that our hoster deleted our entire site.  The web pages, the database, images, settings, eMail boxes, the visitor stats login area - visitor campaign records - EVERYTHING completely trashed / deleted / erased - gone.  They claim that a server script did it and that the server was also smart enough to delete all of the backups on the server as well.

We do not wish to disclose all the details or the name of the hoster who did this. They claim to believe that their "automatic site delete software" acted properly by deleting our entire site without any warning or any attempt to contact us.

It is very hard to describe how we felt when we contacted them and they offered to build a whole new site and host it for us for as little as $420 per month.  Now, why in the world would we pay someone $420 per month to build and host a site for us after they just deleted the one we had spent almost 4 years building?  Real strange case of trash and jack - hijack, site jack, straight jack and switch!  What is a "jack and switch?" You know, it's like Bait and Switch.  Our hosting bill prior to the jacking was $7.99 per month.  Our hosting bill after the jacking, was quoted at $420 per month plus rebuild costs of over $3,000.  Smell the math...

Fortunately, we had fairly current backups in our office that enabled us to move to a new host and set up the site in one day and get it live to the Internet on the same day (Sunday, January 14, 2006).  All with a lot of help from some very reliable, capable tech staff who worked through their Sunday to help us get back online.  Most of the web pages appear to be functioning properly.

We deeply apologize for all of the confusion, inconvenience and loss of timely campaign delivery to all of our clients.  Please go here and follow the steps to reactivate your account and campaign.

We promise to patiently listen to your every concern and complaint and make our best effort to resolve everything in your favor, to your satisfaction.

We do not want to lose you as our client, so please give us your confidence and trust in knowing that we are looking forward to giving you the highest consideration to compensate you for your loss of timely visitor campaign delivery as a result of this episode.

When we were ready to pull our hair out and say or do something crazy, we were blessed to be reminded that:

"ALL things work together for good for those who love the Lord and are called according to His Purpose."

We thank you for being our client and we want you to know that we are here to serve you - no mater happens - always...

Best regards,

Traffic delivery has slowed due to multiple large campaigns running at the same time.  Corrective steps have been taken to restore delivery speed.  Increased delivery speed will be visible over the next 72 hours.  Thank you for your patience.

Wednesday, September 7, 2005  -  2:00 PM  PDT

Our traffic delivery server upgrade has completed successfully.  All campaigns have resumed from where they left off yesterday.  No clients have lost any visitors they purchased.  However, because the delivery server was offline for almost 24 hours, delivery time has to be extended for some of our clients.  Campaign run time may be extended by 2 or 3 days to keep the campaigns running through to full completion.  This will affect less than 10% of our clients and in each case, we will be adding bonus traffic to make up for the delay and inconvenience.  We thank you for your patience and understanding through this temporary down time.  Please contact support if you have any questions or concerns.

Tuesday, September 6, 2005  -  8:00 PM  PDT

Our primary traffic delivery server is down for upgrades.  Unfortunately, the upgrade has not completed as quickly as we would like.  Traffic delivery will return to normal upon completion of the upgrade.  It is expected that the upgrade will be completed by Wednesday afternoon, September 7, 2005, or sooner.

Friday, August 19, 2005  -  12:00 AM  PDT

Our traffic delivery system is now located on its new server and appears to be operating correctly. Please contact support if you notice any issues or you have any concerns.

Wednesday, August 10, 2005  -  12:00 AM  PDT

Our traffic delivery system is being moved to a new server.  We expect that the move will go smoothly and there should be no disruption of service.  However, if you visit and the site is down, please know that our engineers are working on the server and that they will restore full service to you as quickly as possible.  As always, please contact us if you have any concerns.

Saturday, May 21, 2005  -  12:00 PM  PST

The traffic delivery server and all stats server functions are operating at optimal levels. Please contact support if you have any questions or concerns.
